  About Marisol Couto, CPD, CLEC

My name is Marisol Couto and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula and a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor.

As a Certified Postpartum Doula, CPD, I am a trained professional who will provide emotional, physical and educational support while assisting parents to increase their parenting skills to be able to take care of their new born on their own.

As a Lactation Educator Counselor, CLEC, I am a professional breastfeeding specialist who is trained to help mothers with various issues concerning human lactation and breastfeeding. I help mothers and babies having difficulties with latching, nursing, and baby's weight. My role as a counselor is to educate the mother about the fundamentals of lactation. A Lactation Educator Counselor is also familiar with breastfeeding equipment. With my assistance the mother can get ready to go back to work very fast.

I received my postpartum certification through Dona International and I am also a member of Doulas Associaton of Southern California (DASC). My Lactation Educator Counselor Certification was received throuhg UC San Diego, Certificated Lactation Educator Program.

“Mothering the mother”, I will be there every step of the way reassuring the mother that she is doing fine, she can breastfeed her baby, and she can be supported. The postpartum doula is a non-judgmental supporter who will assist the mother and the family members in their adjustment to the newborn and to the new routine.

I provide services in Los Angeles, California.
Feel free to call me.

Thank you for visiting. I look forward to meeting you.

"When we brought home our second child, Simone, from the hospital, it was a much bigger shock than we imagined.  We had an 18 month old boy at home so certainly we should have been more than prepared to take care of an infant. But it's an amazing thing.
